Card for Baptism

Last Friday I went to a crop in Ålesund at a wonderful shop called Familieminner (Family Memories). I have only been to two crops before, both of them involved a plain ride, so this was a new experience. On both of them I was working on my first acrylic album, so I kind of knew what to bring. This time I was at a loss, my album was finished and I had no clear ideas for the cards I had on my to do list. What to bring - what to bring.... I was going through my patterned papers and I realised that my one day old resolution about not buying any patterned papers, only storage, was going to be broken the next evening. I mean, who can resist the temptation of a store filled with new shiny stuff?? Not me.... So, I went to the crop without one single piece of paper. I´ll tell you, it felt quite naughty.....

The first card on the list was a card for one of my sisters bfs. Her baby boy was baptised last Sunday. At the crop I found this beautiful paper by graphic 45 - Toy Soldier Parade. As some of you might have noticed, I´m not all that into making "traditional" cards. I like to use unexpected stash and papers in different ways. I thought this paper would be perfect for a baby boy! No baby blues and chubby, darling faces anywhere! :-) The paper line also have a 12x12 sheet with amazing coordinating tags witch topped of the card. The only thing bothering me is; why A,B,E????? Who writes A,B, E????? I solved it by attaching the letters in a "random" order, only to discover that the A and the E had a thin blue frame and the B had a green one... Arghhhhh..... What is the point of that, I ask??? If anyone has connections in the graphic 45 design department, please tell them that they can not do stuff like that. I messes with a perfectionists mind... The other seven ladies at the crop thought I was mental.... Little did they know!!! *manic laughter*

The good thing was the the little baby boy did not notice :-) Lucky me! And his mom loved the card so much that she said she was going to frame it and hang it in the nursery :-) I just hope she does not blame me when her little boy messes up his alphabet.....

I added Severins name to the front of the card. Just a little personal touch!

On the inside of the card I used a stamp with an old Norwegian lullaby.

I cut the toy soldier out of the patterned paper to finish of the back.
