One dog,loads of crafts: Card stitching

Finally, I finished my last project. The stitching took ages! The paper teared, the tread was not good (maybe that's the reason my great grandmother never used it!). I was so inspired, visiting Sams blog Card Stitching. You should all take a look at her beautiful cards!! I´ve also "discovered" this book, Doodle Embroidery, which I haven´t actually read yet, but I´m expecting it any day now! I´m not a big fan of sketches and patterns, so the idea of doodling embroidery really appealed to me. So, without further ado, I jumped right in. I started doodling with a pencil, and transferred it to my card stock using a piercing tool.

My idea was that the grass was going to turn into the butterflies path. I don´t know if I succeeded, my Granny thought it looked like an elephant, my mom some strange animal and my dad thought it looked like a cows udder. My, father, being a farmer, should really know better. Maybe he needs some time of!

I also stamped a sentiment, and heat embossed it (which I really love!!!). I don´t know if I liked it. I think it got kind of cluttered. I might have to change the dark green mat (is that the right word?)

I had to reinforce the paper using tape at the back. The tread kept knotting (is that even a word??).

I used Swarovski crystals to create the illusion of flowers. I kind of went nuts in the crystal department at Scraporama, I bought hundreds! They were really expensive, but well worth it I think!
