Recap of my summer trip!

As some of you might have noticed by my previous posts I´m back from my summer trip! I am now desperately trying to fulfill my resolution to get back my blogging life. I have come to the realization that it is very difficult to write witty and well thought through post while listening to audio books, so now I am trying out the old fashion pen and paper way. I have brushed my teeth, lighted my scented candle (wild rose), found some easy listening music on my IPod. My DD (darling dog) is lying next to me and I´m writing with one hand and petting him with the other. I must admit I do like a good pen and a clean sheet of paper!

I thought I´d start out by telling you a bit about my holiday. My sister was going to the same wedding as me and the wedding cake, so we started out by going to the hairdresser. This might not seem like a big thing, but when you live on an island with about 150 people, and they all are over 50 with a bunch of kids (and grand kids) and cats, the hairdresser is not my top priority. It is not like I´m going to bump into Prince Charming around the next street corner (not only because of the age gap, but also because we have no street corners). It was almost painful to spend that amount of money on my hair. I was just thinking about all the beautiful paper I could have bought!

The next day we got a flight to Bergen and went on a desperate hat hunt. It seems to me that Norwegians are a bit frightened of hats. I on the other hand LOVE them, and have all my life. I have always said that I have to marry someone royal, so that I get the opportunity to wear hats and gloves every day... I have realized that the chances of finding a real prince are kind of limited, so i just have to wear them anyway! Come to think of it, one of my ancestors actually married the son of Mary Queen of Scots. That is royal enough for me!

After trying on a million one size (does not) fit all hats I finally found one that I could get on my big head. At this point I deeply regretted not buying any of the 40 hats I tried on during my trip to Edinburgh in April. WHY OH WHY??? Next time, I will get one, or maybe two.... It will be big and pink with flowers and feathers. I will cherish it with all my heart, and probably end up redesigning my bedroom to go with the fab color. (Yes, I am that crazy...)

I hope I have not bored you with my rambling... The next post will hopefully have some crafting in it, and a photo of the wedding cake! And more holiday memories....
