TPE - Challenge #16

At last I have managed to do a challenge again! This week over at TPE they have a great sketch challenge. This is my first attempt at doing a sketch, I have never been much of a "sketcher", but I loved the simplicity of this sketch and I thought it would be great for a baby card.

All the patterned papers used on this card was from the Designer Paper Collection that came with Simply Cards & Papercraft a little while ago. I stamped the baby stamp using VersaMark ink on water colour paper and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. (Initially I wanted to use my Ranger Clear Resist Pad, but I just can not get it to work. It really annoys me!) I then sponged it up using Tattered Rose Distress Ink. (I love that colour!) I covered the butterfly in Glossy accents to make it pop. The ribbon is another one of my favorites ( well... its the only "baby" ribbon I´ve got) and it was perfect for the sentiment part of the card.

The stamp at the back reads: The heart is made so that there is always room for more.

Butterfly Embrodery Pattern

I have had questions about the pattern for the butterfly card, and here it is :-) I am still figuring out Illustrator, so it took me some time! I am also planning on adding some sentiments to the flight path, such as "Thank You" and "Miss You". I hope you all will enjoy it, and that if you use it I would be grateful for to be mentioned :-)

Owl card

I hope you have all visited the new and fast growing crafting network Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends. I have been lucky enough to join three of the Design Teams :

This card is my first entry to the Card Creations DT. I have totally fallen in love with the Sassafras Lass papers, but I have been wondering how to use them. I am not that used to use patterned paper with quite so much pattern! I bought the Owl stamp at Scraporama in March, and this is the first time I have used it. One of my bfs just finished her master degree and I thought the owl would be appropriate for such a smart woman!

Materials used:
  • Card Blanc, Panduro
  • Patterned paper, Serendipity "Hog Heaven", Sassafras Lass
  • Stamp, Prima (coloured with distress ink)
  • Sentiment, Unknown
