Challenge #30

In this photo, I´ve added a sunrise in Photoshop.
The one below has not been changed.

This is my response on the 30th challenge from Sukkersøtt. The challenge called for a fairytale themed card, and I did not think I would be able to do it. I´m just not a very fairy kind of person. But, I´m a sucker for competition, so I gave it some thought. I came up with the idea of making a 3D card, with a castle in it. Of course, the idea evolved as I was working on it. Before I knew it, I was cutting individual leafs for the trees, adding them to my card one by one. I blame it on the drugs.... (I´m ill, and take a lot of medication, so whenever I do anything I can not explain, I blame it on the drugs...) I also added rub-ons that came as a gift with the last issue of "Cardmaking and Papercraft". To finish it of, I added some butterflies and a bird.

To frame the card, I made a box out of pink Bazzill paper. On the front I masked a heart shape and a stamp from Panduro . I made "locks" using a crown die cut fro QuicKutz, and embellished it using tiny "diamonds" I also found a chipboard with "and they lived happily ever after.", and stamped a prince and a princess on white card. I coloured the stamps using gel pens and water colour pencils, cut them out and glued them on the side of the card. On the inside, I made to pockets and tags to write a greeting or quote on.

I´m very satisfied with the end product. I think it´s the perfect non-traditional card for a fairytale wedding. I hope you will like it too!

PS. My dog is very annoyed at me for spending so much time making this card. He is desperately trying to get attention, and whenever I take a break, all I do is brush him. So now, we´re going outside to play. The weather is horrible, it´s snowing/raining vertically. Luckily, he does not like bad weather, so he´ll soon change his mind about being outside, and we´ll curl up on the sofa. I can´t wait!

My first tutorial at Inspirational Techniques and Tutorials

I´m so happy that they found my work good enough to post! It feels great, after all, I´ve only been doing paper crafts for about 2 months :-)

I thought I would show you some more of my work. I´ve been quite busy on Sukkersøtts last challenge. I´ll post my takr on that in another post.

I made the flowers on this spring card using a heart die cut from QuicKutz. It has a scalloped background and I used that to create the petals.

This card was made purely to test out my new star templates from Fiskars.

This is a blue birthday card. A big challenge for me, because I´ve never used blue before. This is the first card I´ve made for someone outside the family. The lady who requested it wanted a blue card, with ether the sea or flowers. Of course I chose to use my "signature" flower! I do hope she likes it!

One dog - Introduction

So, Rolf (my dog) had a serious talking to me yesterday. He feels he has been neglected, blog wise. And I´m afraid he´s right. I haven´t even introduced him. But here he is, the most luxurious farm animal ever (and, no, I do not know what I was thinking), my dog, the one and only: Rolf!

Isn´t he beautiful? I must admit, at times he does not look this good, even though this photo was taken the day before bathday. He gets a bath every week, and it takes me between 5 and 8 hours from first to last brush stroke. It depends on the weather. Here he is, diguised as a snow man. That week, I used 3 days to get him bath time ready. The fur has to be completely smooth and tag free before I can give him a bath.

AAAARRRRGGGGG

I´ve finally managed to get three coloums, but as you can see, they are not placed in the right spot. I will have to blackmail one of my sisters friends to help me figure this out. SO ANNOYED!!
