Buttons, buttons, buttons....

I went to the local shop yesterday. I was looking through some old stuff they had lying around (they have loads of strange old stuff (not food of course...hehehe)) and found loads of buttons. I started going through them, but there was so much that I just decided to ask how much they wanted for all of them. I paid $7,50 for the hole lot. That's including the ribbons. The packaging says "Hair-Bows". I love it!

I´ve just started to get together my own blog candy, and I will definitely include some of these. There are a bunch of cute flower shaped buttons as well!

My "borrowed" trim stencil card

So, this is how my card came out. I used a sponge and added green and gold acrylic paint to the old wooden trim. I love how the patina and grain of the trim came out! I so wish that I could make it into a stamp. Only problem is that it is a bit to big. I had a very close encounter with an LO when making this. It kind of cried out this urgent need to be placed on one. Luckily, I managed to stop my self in just in time. I´ve even edited the photo I wanted to use in Lightroom, printed it and cut it into size... Phew.... I really need to stay fare away from scrap booking, because when I start something, I can´t stop. I have to finish it, and I´m kind of a perfectionist so things take time, and can get very expensive! Anyways....

I do hope you like it! It was very fun making. All I´m hoping for now, is that my neighbours wont miss the trim....







Just a question in the end... I was reading this blog and it mentioned "no - sketch" cards... What is that? Do you always make a sketch befor cutting? I´m just curios, I´ve never been much of a sketcher... When getting my Interior Architecture degree, I always made the mandatory schetchbook last, after everything else was finished... "Don´t think, DO", that´s my motto...

I´m very lucky to have a dog that makes me leave my crafting table at least 4times a day. He takes me places I would never had been otherwise (i.a. outdoors....) Last summer one of our neighbours (in a summer house) changed their windows. When walking my dog, I´ve seen this big pile of rubbish left after the workmen had finished. I´ve been drooling on this piece of trimming for a while, thinking it would make a great stencil for a card, maybe even a stamp. So, on my morning walk to day, I took it home. I asked my dad if he thought they would miss it, and he said no.

So, handy as I am, I found a saw, and no it is lying next to me on my crafting table. I´ll use it for a card later, and post the results as soon as I finish it!

I´m finally home from my trip, and was so exited to see how many who has visited my blog while I was gone. When visiting my grandmother, I went rampaging through all her buttons, and I came home with a hole bag of them. Some of the buttons are really old, from my great grand mother, and they are so beautiful! I can´t wait to use them on my projects!
